Properties: White crystal or crystalline powder a small piece. Slightly bitter taste. Odorless. Sublimation temperature of 168-170 oC. Melting at about 284 oC and decomposes. 10% aqueous solution of the pH value of 5.5-7.0. Chemical stability. In food preparation, processing, almost no loss when heated. Soluble in water (4.03G/100ml, 20 oC), slightly soluble in hot ethanol, soluble in dilute mineral acid and alkaline solution. Insoluble in cold alcohol and ether.
Uses: One of the essential amino acids, the minimum daily needs of about 0.7g. Can enhance a variety of foods such as wheat flour, wheat gluten, peanut flour, potatoes and other restrictions contained isoleucine as amino acids, appropriate to strengthen. Normal development for infants and adults the necessary nitrogen balance.
